Pheasants in the snow watercolor. It’s a cold, crisp morning in January in Illinois. And there is fresh snow that fell overnight. I will have to go to work, but first there is enough time to go out and try to bag a pheasant for dinner. Pheasants will be roosting under the snow on a day like this. When they sense someone close by, they will explode out of the snow to make their escape. It will startle you out of your skin, and this smart bird may well get clean away. But it’s worth it to be out on such a great day. 24 x 16.
