Mayan statue watercolor. Whoever would think of painting s picture of a Mayan statue? What happened is that I was commissioned to paint a pair of pictures for a client to hang in his vacation home in Belize. And he wanted the subject to be Mayan statues. I painted pictures of two different statues and they are hanging in his home today. But I liked the way they turned out so I painted a third statue for myself. All three pictures use the same format, a statue superimposed over the jungle in the distance. Obviously, statues don’t float around over the jungle, so this is what artistic license is all about.
