Bigger is better?

How finely detailed or “tight” should we make the picture? The range we see goes from showing the tiniest detail to very splashy or “loose” to the point where much is only indicated. Every artist does it the way he prefers and no matter how tight or loose it’s still a legitimate way to paint. But sometimes it’s easy to get carried away and go much tighter than we intended. How to prevent this? Here’s a simple trick: use only the largest brush you can for any area. Do not go to the little brushes. If you want to keep it loose and splashy, this will help
